Updating the Plugin to Listen to Sound Files in a Web Page

Problem:
Some students said they couldn't play the sound files from the web page.

If you are having trouble hearing the sound files when you click the link, it is possible that your audio player is out of date. In this case, you may need to update it. The mp3 files that are on the page for Chapter 3 can be played by many different players, including Windows Media Player and Apple QuickTime. Since most of you use Windows Media Player, I will explain the steps to take to update this audio player.

1. Open your Windows Media Player.
2. From the Help menu, select "Check for Player Updates" This will automatically connect to the Internet and get the necessary updates for your computer. It's free.
3. Follow the directions in the update screen (Click Next, Next).
4. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
