It involves listening with comprehension.
It involves organizing information while writing.

These notetakers are successful.
ESL students should take notes in English.
ESL students should write with abbreviations.
ESL students should use a modified outline system.
 
5. Indenting will help.
Leaving white space will help.
Writing legibly in pen will help.
The notes will be more readable.
 
6. Many students use a notebook.
The notebook is for each course.
The notebook is 8 1/2 x 11 inches.
These students start a new page for each day.
These students put the date at the top of the page.
 
7. A student should review class notes.
The review should be as soon as possible after class.
A student can correct mistakes.
A student can add information.
 
8. These techniques for taking class notes are important.
They are important for all students.
